InterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization established in 1988, and duly registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU is actively involved in programs geared towards the protection and improvement of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda and in the Great Lakes Region. InterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health (HIV&AIDS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management and good Management and Governance systems.
Job Summary: The Assistant Education Officer will assist the Education Officer in planning, coordination and promotion of easy access of Education for Refugee children in schools.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the InterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) Assistant Education Officer job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any other related discipline
- At least two years relevant work experience in implementing Education programs in an NGO environment is preferred
- Broad knowledge and understanding of Uganda’s Education system
- Ability to understand and interpret the current education policy of Uganda and properly align it to the refugee communities
- Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in MS Word, power point and excel.
- Good team player.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to work under multicultural environment and setting.
