Our mission is to reduce the prevalence of cancer and cancer deaths through supporting mass cancer awareness campaigns, cancer screening, cancer care at facility and home, funding hospital cancer screening equipment, cancer drugs, and cancer research.
Job Summary: The Front Desk Officer will support the Uganda Cancer Fund in the operations by maintaining office systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for answering phones, directing calls, giving directions, responding to basic questions about the organization
- Receive and direct visitors
- Maintain a front desk visitor’s register
- Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; controlling correspondence; designing filing systems; reviewing and approving supply requisitions; assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
- Provides historical reference by defining procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
- Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
- Maintaining our communication systems. Making sure that everybody has necessary functioning voicemail and email and that the outgoing messages are accurate.
- Keeps management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports; summarizing information; identifying trends.
- Actively contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Cancer Fund (UCF) Front Desk Officer should hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, office management, Secretarial studies, or a related field
- Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in Microsoft office computer packages;
- Understanding of data privacy standards;
- Customer-service &public relations skills;
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Articulate, cordial, hospitable and pleasant personality
- Good telephone etiquette
