Reports to: Administrative Assistant in the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of NCHE
About US:
National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) was established as the regulator of higher education to implement the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act of Parliament (UOTIA, 2001). By the provisions of the Act, NCHE is mandated to guide the establishment of institutions of higher learning as well as ensure delivery of quality and relevant education to all qualified persons.
NCHE has strived to achieve its mandate to ensure that relevant and sustainable quality higher education is provided at all Higher Educational Institutions in Uganda. Through strategic intervention areas NCHE is strategically positioned as it pursues its mandate through mandatory functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizing all records of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Directorate;
- Supporting the Directorate in archiving all files;
- Ensuring easy retrieval of documents within the Directorate;
- Creating and maintaining NCHE databases to ensure quick retrieval of information;
- Developing a file system for ease of retrieval
- Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by superiors.
Expected Outputs
- Robust filing system of documents in the Directorate for easy retrieval;
- All files archived;
- Directorate meeting records including notices and minutes archived;
- Record of correspondences and publications within the Directorate
- Registry of documents through Directorates
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Diploma in Records and Archives Management, Library and Information Management or its equivalent in a related field;
- Must be ICT literate;
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of Management Information Systems is essential.
