Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Dispenser will be responsible for prescribing and dispensing medications, supplements, and skincare products. The role includes providing top-notch customer service and ensuring the pharmacy’s efficient and safe operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispensing medication according to prescriptions, ensuring correct dosage and labeling.
- Consulting with patients/clients on medication usage, side effects, and addressing queries.
- Processing prescriptions from various healthcare providers and verifying their accuracy.
- Managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking.
- Entering patient information and sales data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Upholding compliance with regulations and pharmacy policies for a safe, legal environment.
- Delivering excellent customer service, resolving issues, and maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Participating in quality control and assurance programs for medication dispensing accuracy.
- Collaborating with the Branch manager and pharmacy staff for seamless operations.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Diploma/certificate in Nursing, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related medical field.
- Knowledge of Uganda Pharmacy law and generic/brand-name medications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective teamwork and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on detail and accuracy in dispensing.
- Computer proficiency.
- Fluent in English.
- Legal right to work in Uganda.
