History of Namibia Business School
NBS HISTORY
Namibia Business School (NBS) has been established in response to the needs of the Namibian market. In 1999, the Founding Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia, Prof. Peter Katjavivi, assisted by former Head of the Economics Department, Prof. Mohammed El Toukhy, joined forces with FNB Foundation and entered into a collaboration agreement with Maastricht School of Management in The Netherlands, to offer an Executive MBA Programme at UNAM. Since the inception of the programme in 2000, more than 250 students graduated with diplomas and Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
FNB Foundation, under the leadership of the late Lazarus Ipangelwa, had the vision and commitment to financially support the programme. This commitment from FNB continues until this day and has translated into FNB being one of the Founders of NBS joined by the Bank of Namibia, Namdeb, The O&L Group of Companies and UNAM. Namibia Business School was officially launched on 30 October 2008 .
