Deactivating a Facebook account is different from deleting it. Deactivation makes your profile inaccessible to the public while leaving your personal information in an archived state, with your profile photo and first name visible to friends. If you want to temporarily remove your profile, without deleting it completely, deactivation is the right option for you. If you wish to return at some point in future, you can easily reactivate your account. Deactivating your Facebook also offers privacy benefits as potential employers or colleges will not be able to search for it on the platform. This article explains how to deactivate your Facebook and keep it that way.

How to Deactivate a Facebook Account

The process of deactivating a Facebook account is very simple. This process doesn’t delete your account; it just hides it from your friends and search engines. Here’s what you need to do:

– Go to your Facebook account and select “Settings”. You can also go to your Facebook profile to access the settings.

– Look for “Manage Account” at the bottom of the Settings menu.

– Select “Deactivate Your Account”.

– Click “Deactivate” to confirm your choice. What happens when you deactivate your Facebook account? When you deactivate your account, your friends will no longer be able to see your profile, content or have any communication with you on Facebook. You will also not be able to log in to your account or access any information associated with that account. If you still have access to the email address associated with your account, you can log in and reactivate your account anytime. However, keep in mind that when you reactivate your account, all data associated with it will be restored.

How to Deactivate Your Facebook Account Permanently

You can deactivate your account for a temporary period. If you wish to deactivate your account for good, you will have to delete your account. Here is how you can do that:

– Go to your Facebook account and select “Settings”. You can also go to your Facebook profile to access the settings. – Click on “Manage Account” at the bottom of the Settings menu.

– Click on “Deactivate Account”.

– Click on “Delete My Account” to confirm your choice.

How to Deactivate Your Facebook Account Temporarily. If you want to take a break from Facebook and want to deactivate your account, you can do so temporarily. If you wish to deactivate your account temporarily, you need to give a reason for the same.

Here is how you can do that:

– Go to your Facebook account and select “Settings”. You can also go to your Facebook profile to access the settings. – Click on “Manage Account” at the bottom of the Settings menu.

– Select “Deactivate Account” and give a reason for doing so. Is Deleting Your Facebook Account the Right Choice? If you decide to delete your account, it will be completely deleted from Facebook’s servers. Your account and all information associated with it will be removed permanently.

If you are absolutely sure that you do not want to access your account again, you can delete it by following the steps below:

– Go to your Facebook account and select “Settings”. You can also go to your Facebook profile to access the settings.

– Click on “Manage Account” at the bottom of the Settings menu.

– Click on “Delete My Account” and confirm your choice.

What is Permanent Deactivation?

Permanent deactivation is not deleting your account but closing your account. This will ensure that no one can access your personal information but will not delete your account. However, your information will remain in Facebook’s servers and can be accessed by law enforcement agencies when needed.

Are There Any Advantages of Permanently Deactivating a Facebook Account?

The only advantage of permanently deactivating your Facebook account is that it remains private and out of public view. However, if you deactivate your account, only your friends will be able to see your posts. If you log in to your account again, your posts will be visible to all your friends. If you are thinking about deactivating your Facebook account, make sure you are aware of the fact that you cannot reactivate the account. You can only create a new account when you decide to come back. However, if you think permanently deleting your Facebook account is the right choice, then go ahead and do it. After all, there are other social media platforms that you can use. There are many reasons why you may want to deactivate or delete your Facebook account. Whatever the reason may be, you can easily deactivate your account or permanently delete it.
