Ntake Bakery and Company Ltd has been a household name in Uganda since 1979, with a range of popular products including Kaswa baking flour, AAA tissue, and the renowned Ntake bread. Our growth encompasses a bakery, wheat mill, and paper recycling plant, marking our presence as a multifaceted business in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes.
- Translate HR needs into effective processes and programs that add business value.
- Advise on employee relations to enhance employer-employee relationships and morale.
- Provide HR support to the Group Leadership Team and employees.
- Manage HR programs like performance management, succession planning, labor relations, and compensation.
- Coordinate or deliver training programs based on business and individual needs.
- Ensure workplace health and safety compliance.
- Handle employee misconduct and complaints transparently.
- Conduct surveys to measure employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Review and establish company wage and salary structures and pay policies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in HR is an advantage.
- Membership in a professional organization.
- Eight years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 3 years at the management level.
- Experience in industrial labor and employee relations.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of Uganda’s labor laws.
- Strong experience in manufacturing and plant-level HR.
- Proficiency in recruiting, compensation, employee, and labor relations.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-oriented with strong teamwork, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Effective conflict management, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
