About Ntake Bakery and Company Ltd: Founded in 1979, Ntake Bakery and Company Ltd is a multi-sector business with a bakery, wheat mill, and paper recycling plant. It’s known for products like Kaswa baking flour, AAA tissue, and Ntake bread.

Job Summary:
The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, workforce planning, recruitment and selection, employee relations, training programs, health and safety compliance, and managing employee misconduct and complaints. This role is key in ensuring employee satisfaction and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, selection, and employee orientation.
  • Provide HR advice to the leadership team and employees.
  • Manage HR programs like performance management, succession planning, and compensation.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver training programs based on business and individual needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
  • Handle employee misconduct and complaints fairly and transparently.
  • Conduct surveys to measure employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Review the company’s wage and salary structure, pay policies, and oversee variable pay systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification in HR is an added advantage.
  • Membership in a professional organization.
  • Eight years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 3 years at the Management level.
  • Experience in industrial labor and employee relations.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Uganda’s labor laws.
  • Experience in manufacturing and plant-level HR.
  • Skills in recruiting, compensation, employee, and labor relations.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Customer focus and ability to deal at all organizational levels.
  • Results-oriented with high energy/passion.
  • Teamwork, collaboration, consulting, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, conflict management, coaching, and mentoring skills.
