About US:
Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) is a statutory body established by UNMA Act, 2012. The Act empowers UNMA to provide for the control and development of technically sound and scientific meteorological services in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Human Resource Officer will assist the Senior Human Resource Officer in the execution of the human resource management function of the Authority
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare the payroll
- Processing and verifying information related to recruitment, Salary changes, statistics and job analysis.
- Drafting letters of appointments, promotion and confirmation
- Helping in assessing terminal benefits like pensions and gratuities.
- Collecting data and other vital statistics relating to recruiting and training.
- Manages staff leave and attendance registers
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) Human Resource Officer job must hold an honors’ Bachelor degree in Human Resource OR
- An honors Social Sciences degree plus a post graduate diploma in HRM obtained from a recognized Institution.
- At least four years of experience in a reputable organization.
- Conversant with the Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (IPPS)
- Conflict resolution skills
- Attention to detail,
- An effective team player,
- Interpersonal skills,
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Age: 25 years and above
