IDEX is developing the next wave of “social intrapreneurs” (employees who innovate from within existing organizations) who will support, lead and advance the work of socially focused enterprises around the world!
The IDEX Accelerator & Global Fellows Program is for young professionals (21 – 35 years old) from across the globe who want to deep dive into the social impact sector and make the transition to social enterprise practitioner.
Now in it’s 10th year of operation, the IDEX Fellowship offers applicants multiple options in terms of how they may direct their fellowship experience and learnings based on time and financial commitments.
The IDEX Fellowship experience can now be tailored to the individual’s career objectives and training needs, and can include onsite, virtual or blended learning experiences.
Programs
IDEX is so pleased to introduce their 4 program offerings that will now allow you to access the IDEX Fellowship from any part of the globe:
The Full Immersion Fellowship Program:
- Ideal for those looking to immersively experience the social enterprise landscape in one of the biggest emerging markets, India.
- Be part of a diverse cohort living in India and get a first hand experience of working in one of the most active social enterprise destinations, Bangalore.
- Fellows choose a sector of their interest such as Education, Health, Environment and Energy, Women’s Empowerment, Livelihoods, Impact Investing etc., to base their full-time placement with an organisation for 6 months in India.
- Supported by online and offline learning labs/capacity building modules, peer-to-peer learning experiences, access to resident mentors and sector experts.The Virtual Fellowship Program:
- Ideal for those not looking to leave their present living / working situations and keen on exploring career / specialization opportunities in the social impact sector.
- Each Fellow will gain access to the online learning labs/capacity building modules, learning webinars and one-on-one meetings with resident mentors.
- Supported in terms of key theory and practical subject knowledge and understanding how one might begin to align themselves professionally towards pursuing a career in the sector.The Blended Onsite and Virtual Fellowship Program:
Ideal for those not looking to leave their present living / working situations and keen on exploring career / specialization opportunities in the social impact sector.
- Fellows will join the week long field orientation in Bangalore and will be extended visa support for the same as required.
- Each Fellow will gain access to the online learning labs/capacity building modules, learning webinars and one-on-one virtual meetings with resident mentors.
- Supported in terms of key theory and practical subject knowledge and understanding how one might begin to align themselves professionally towards pursuing a career in the sector.The Working Professional’s Fellowship Program:
- Ideal for those who are currently already employed within the social impact/enterprise sector in India only.
- Deepen social enterprise eco-system understanding and build expertise / subject knowledge to further career prospects in your area of interest.
- Supported by online and offline learning labs/capacity building modules, peer-to-peer learning experiences, access to resident mentors and sector experts.
- Fellows will need to travel to Bangalore as and when required for in-person activities with the other Full Immersion Fellowship Program Cohort members.Benefits

- The IDEX Fellowship Program tuition is $5950 USD for all program offerings.
- However, IDEX also offers partial scholarships on program tuition to a select number of applicants (men and women) to attend the fellowship i.e. the IDEX Scholarship Award and an exclusive full scholarship award to one or two deserving women candidates i.e. the Invest WISE Scholarship Award (only applicable to Full Immersion Fellowship Program).
- It is worth noting that so far, IDEX has been able to offer scholarships to 80% of it’s applicants and therefore actively encourage you to apply.Eligibility Criteria
IDEX Fellowship is seeking young professionals (ages 21-35) who have a proven track record of leadership and are seeking to use their education and skills to address social and economic challenges for under-served populations.
IDEX Fellows come from a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds, as each individual fellowship position requires different specific skills. Ideal candidates will possess:
Bachelors or Masters degree
- A minimum of 1 to 3 years of work experience
- Proven track record of leadership responsibilities
- A passion and desire to work or learn about emerging markets and use social enterprise principles to solve global issues
- An ability to quickly adapt and work in resource constrained environments
- Desire to engage in an intense professional development experience while applying creative solutions to deepen impact.How to Apply
