IOL ACPE Course Contact Classes
Institute for Open Learning Advanced Certificate in Senior Primary Education Contact Classes
Contact Classes
IOL provides ACPE students with the opportunity to attend a number of contact sessions per year. These contact classes will be conducted on Saturdays. Students who attended these contact sessions experienced remarkable improvement in marks and are well prepared for examinations. Vacation Contact Classes during the December/January school holiday is also available to students.
‘Lync’ a newly introduced Contact Session is to be implemented for the ACPE course. Classes will be conducted In Windhoek and be directly broadcasted to the regions. These Contact Sessions via Lync will be recorded. Students can also make use of the IOL Student Support Centres at all regional offices to view these recorded contact sessions and uploaded onto the IOL student portal for all the students to view.
The advantages of such contact sessions, to both the Institute for Open Learning and the students, are that all the students will receive the same lesson content, information and summaries. Only one tutor needs to be trained and quality assurance is easier to maintain.
During these sessions students will meet with relevant, subject specialists who will give them advice on their assignments, feedback regarding completed assignments and academic guidance through their study material. Tutors will also be reachable by telephone, throughout the year.
