IOL PPDE (Pre-Primary) Contacts
IOL provides Diploma in Pre-Primary Education (DPPE) students with the opportunity to attend various “contact classes” throughout the year. The classes, which are held in all the local regions on the Saturday of each week, help students prepare for their exams.
During these sessions students meet with relevant, subject specialists who give them advice on assignments, feedback regarding completed assignments and academic guidance partianing to study materials. The “Lync” is a newly introduced contact classes system that was launched this year. Classes are contacted in Windhoek and transferred to big screens at the regional IOL offices. This is advantageous to both the Institution and the students. Students in all regions thus receive similar lesson contents and summaries. The lessons will be recorded and uploaded on the IOL website Student Portal for student reference. It is very important that students come to contact sessions after thorough preparation.
Students who attend contact classes will be provided with contact details for tutors specific to their courses. The clases are set-up as follows:
- The Vacation School contact classes. These contact classes will take place only in Windhoek and Ongwediva. The main focus of these sessions will be on subjects’ contents and pedagogies.
- The Assignment-based contact sessions: These contact sessions will be orientated to toward helping students with the problems they encountered whilst completing assignments and takes place countrywide.
- The Exam-based contact sessions to be presented at all regions. These are exam orientated, thus, exam scopes and any other related issues can be discussed here. Exam scopes will be available for all tutors at the most applicable time.
- The Subject contact classes. These contact classes are aimed at having discussions related to subject content and will be presented at all regions.
Please see the contact classes time table for more information.
