About
Kagando School of Nursing and Midwifery is one of the sections run by Kagando Rural Development Center. KARUDEC is a ministry arm of the church of Uganda in the Anglican Diocese of South Rwenzori which is involved in holistic development of the community. SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY started as a nursing Aide school as early as 1965 and on 3/11/1998, the school was officially opened with nationally recognized courses and certified by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council and Ministry of Education and Sports with a population of 32 students and currently the school has got a population of 350 students. Courses being offered are Enrolled Comprehensive, Diploma Nursing, Diploma midwifery Extension, Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery, certificate and Diploma in Medical Laboratory, certificate in theatre assistants and in the next three years the school will be offering degrees in Nursing.

Diploma in Nursing [DN] (Direct Entry)
Entry Requirements
- Applicant MUST have been in school 3 years prior to application
- Applicant MUST have completed their A-Level and obtained at least 2 principal passes, one of which MUST be in Biology.
- Applicant MUST satisfy the requirements of the Joint Admissions Board (JAB) of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES).
Diploma in Midwifery [DM] (Direct Entry)
Entry Requirements
- Applicant MUST have completed their A-Level and obtained at least 2 principal passes, one of which MUST be in Biology.
- Applicant MUST satisfy the requirements of the Joint Admissions Board (JAB) of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES).
- Applicant MUST have been in school within 3 years prior to application.
Certificate in Midwifery [CM]
Entry Requirements
- Completion or possession of an O-Level Certificate with passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Must be 18 years and/or above.
- Must have been in school within the previous 3 years before applying.
Candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) interview panel.
