LDC Pre Entry Exams
Pre-entry Examination
In addition to the above admission requirements, applicants who wish to be admitted to the Bar Course have to sit and pass a pre-entry examination whether written or oral (or both) approved by and conducted under the supervision of the Law Council.
The requirements include studying and passing the prescribed courses (core subjects) at undergraduate level, namely:
- Legal Methods
- Constitutional Law
- Contract
- Criminal Law
– Torts
– Evidence
– Civil Procedure
- Criminal Procedure
All the above admission requirements are prescribed by the Law Council in The Advocates (Professional Requirements for Admission to Post Graduate Bar Course) Notice, 2007 Legal Notice No. 17 of 2007 and The Advocates (Professional Requirements for Admission to Post Graduate Bar Course) (Amendment) Notice, 2010, Legal Notice No.12 of 2010.
The two Legal Notices are available in the LDC Bookshop.
The Law Council and the Law Development Centre reserve the right of admission to the Post Graduate Bar Course.
Application forms are available from the Secretary, Law Development Centre at a fee of Shs.50,000= (Fifty thousand shillings). The deadline for submission of applications is 31st July of each calendar year.
