Job Summary: The Lower Primary Classroom Teacher will be a classroom teacher in the Lower Primary delivering an international curriculum to students.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning
- Demonstrate good classroom practice
- Plan lessons according to subject map for the British Curriculum provided by Head of Primary
- Deliver lessons through innovative teaching and positive mind set
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of children
- Work with the team to provide a stimulating and engaging working environment
- Keep abreast of any new initiatives and developments in the teaching and learning and assessment of children
- Provide an environment and resources which allows for the delivery of the Primary Curriculum
- Actively promote the Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural Values agenda throughout the school community
Manage pupil development
- Provide guidance, support and motivation for Primary children by being a positive and outstanding role model
- Adhere to the school’s safeguarding procedures when dealing with concerns regarding children and families
- Maintain good discipline by adherence to the school behaviour management policy
- Set high expectations for student behaviour
- Set appropriate expectations for students’ learning, motivation and presentation of work
- Promote good attendance and monitor in accordance with school policy
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold relevant Certificate or Higher in Primary Aged Teaching
- One year of experience in an international school teaching Primary
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
