Position: Mechanic at Xclusive Uganda

Location: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Assistant Technical Manager

Job Summary:
Xclusive Uganda is seeking a skilled Mechanic responsible for preventive maintenance, timely service, and training users of various equipment. This includes maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles, trucks, tractors, implements, and other machines at the farm. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in welding, electro-mechanical works, and a dedication to safety, quality, and excellent customer service.

Main Goal:
The primary goal is to prevent breakdowns, minimize downtime, and keep maintenance budgets low through proficient technical skills, attention to detail, cooperation, analytical thinking, and a fast-paced work ethic.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with over 3 years of experience in a busy environment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles and machines.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Expertise in repairing and maintaining a variety of machines.
  • Knowledge of mechanical terminology.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Luganda.
  • Excellent training abilities.
  • Capability to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform timely maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnosing of various machines.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of mechanical and greenhouse machines.
  • Conduct inspections and comply with manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety precautions and monitor mechanical systems.
  • Submit accurate reports on time and manage the stock level of spare parts efficiently.
  • Availability to work extra hours as needed.
