MMU Business School Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Course
Introduction
The number of job positions in Uganda falls far short of Uganda’s labour force. Our Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (DEI) is tailored to all those who will be job creators for themselves and for others. After 2 years, graduates will have developed a comprehensive business plan and/or will have registered their new enterprise.
Course Objectives
The main objective of this program is to produce graduates who will be job creators for themselves and others and not job seekers.
The other objectives inlcude:
1. To create a supportive and innovative learning environment to strengthen critical thinking of students and instill in them an entrepreneurial spirit.
2. To prepare future leaders in entrepreneurship by stregthening Diploma, Undergraduate and professional education to enhance student learning.
3. To translate knowledge and experiences into economically useful business opportunities and facilitate their adoption in the Rwenzori region and around the world.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must fulfill the following requirements to join the program:
Sat UCE examination or equivalent and obtained a certificate in it.
Have atleast one principal pass at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
Career Prospects for Graduates
The graduates of the Program will be able to identify and realize opportunities in starting new enterprises or growing existing ones. Hence,they wil contribute to reducing the high unemployment levels in the country both for themselves(short term) and for others they will employ (long term).The main focus is to train entrepreneurs who are job creators not job seekers.
