About the project:
The purpose of this project is to support the Government of Uganda’s TB control program to increase TB case detection and treatment success to 90% of all cases, with the aim of ending the TB Epidemic in Uganda.
Job Summary: Under the overall direction of the, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Specialist, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer works with the project team to support implementation of the project M&E and data management systems
This includes working closely with the project M&E and other technical staff in ensuring collection, analysis and dissemination of information to track project progress at project, district and hospital levels.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support during data collection and capture processes at the end of each week, month and quarter for supported health facilities to meet the needs of the project.
- Provide direct support to project supported sites in reporting to DHIS2 accurate and timely TB services reports.
- Support data use both at site/hospital and project level, this will mainly relate to performance review meetings for Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso and any other data use activities.
- Collaborate with district program officers and regional partners in Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso Districts to ensure the availability of TB HMIS tools in all supported sites
- Participate in customization, pilot testing and roll out of national and project management information systems for project, national, district and health facility monitoring processes.
- Oversee and maintain data quality management procedures at project and facility level including supporting development of SOPs for data management at health unit.
- Participate in and support the Project implementation team to document and disseminate lessons learnt and best practices.
- Other M&E and data management related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, IT and Computer science.
- At least four years of working experience in Monitoring, evaluation and learning in the context of TB/HIV/AIDs or any other health related program area.
- Strong skills in data analysis and vast experience in working with information systems promoted by the ministry of Health and PEPFAR e.g. DHIS2
- Strong skills in programming, customization and roll of DHIS2 and Open MRS open source platforms are required for this position
- Strong skills in using GIS tools for data analysis and mapping are a requirement
