Food for the Hungry (FH/U) is a Christian international relief and development organization that has been working in Uganda since 1989. FH is currently operating programs in 26 countries including Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, United States of America and Japan. FH’s primary goal is to respond to human suffering and graduate communities from extreme poverty. In Uganda, FH is operational in the communities ofAdjumani, Kitgum, Lamwo, Kole, Kween, Mbale, Namutumba and Amudat Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and Livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located in Kampala.
Job Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support and ensure effective monitoring, verification and evaluation of the Food for the Hungry Nutrition Project.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will ensure learning is analyzed, documented and shared. The post holder will liaise closely with the partners who have established the overall monitoring, verification and evaluation framework.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and on-going development of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEAL) processes and systems to collect output and outcome level data.
- Support project staff to provide quality and timely to generate programme reports and other documentation for programme
- Analyze and compile project monitoring information to inform practice and produce reports and other documentation for different stakeholders/audience groups.
- Design and facilitate M&E training workshops with relevant staff to strengthen potential skill gaps in programme implementation.
- Support the analysis and triangulation of qualitative and quantitative monitoring data.
- Support the completion of base, mid and endline surveys.
- Ensure all M&E and learning activities uphold a commitment to gender equality, age sensitivity and the inclusion of marginalized groups.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a University Degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics or related field.
- At least five years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E/MIS in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs / Government
- Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
- Proven ICT skills, especially in the use of MIS software database software
- Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software
- Strong training & facilitation skills.
- Must have motorcycle riding skills with a valid and clean permit and be willing to access communities by motorcycle
