ADMISSION INTO POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION (PGDE)
EVENING PROGRAMME FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017
1.Introduction
Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE), a Constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam, invites applications for admission into Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Evening Programme for the 2016/2017 Academic Year.
2.Programme Structure
The programme is offered during evening hours beginning from 3:00 p.m. This programme targets those who intend to work or are already working in the education sector and wish to enhance their career prospects in the teaching profession. The programme provides a flexible route to earn teaching profession qualification and allows candidates to combine work and study. The programme leads to certification in the teaching qualification equivalent to a degree level in education.
3.Entry qualifications:
Applicants should have ANY of the following qualifications:
i.Advanced diploma with Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) qualification.
ii.Bachelor degree in any field other than education with an overall G.P.A of not less than 2.7 or its equivalent.
iii.Higher degree in any field other than education with an overall G.P.A of not less than
2.7or its equivalent.
NB: Candidates with science subjects’ background are highly encouraged to apply.

4.Duration: The Programme runs for 12 months starting in October 2016.
5.Mode of Delivery: The programme is delivered as face to face evening programme at MUCE. Students will have to attend a short orientation programme and registration processes at the beginning of the study. They will also have to complete coursework and independent study.
6.Application Fee: Applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee as
follows: TZS 50,000/= for Tanzanian applicants and US $ 50 for Non-Tanzanian applicants.
7.Tuition Fees: Tuition fee for the PGDE evening programme is TZS 3,250,000/=.
