Ndejje University Int’ Conference 26 – 28 Sept 2016
Ndejje University, located in the central part of Uganda (in East Africa) is organizing an international scientific conference on sustainable development of Grassroots communities. This platform will provide an opportunity for diverse stakeholders from government sector, private sector and academia to reflect, discuss and respond to the opportunities and challenges of developing grassroots communities.
Over generations, actors in government, private sector and academia have attempted to address grassroots development challenges using isolated approaches and resources. On the side of the academicians, disciplinary boundaries have occasionally prevented integration of knowledge and expertise which is necessary for addressing developmental challenges. An integrated sustainable development agenda calls for synergistic frameworks and shared responsibilities to ensure that plans drafted and promises made become actions delivered.
This conference will explore initiatives (past and ongoing) related to sustainable development for grassroots communities. The presentations will focus on four sectors of development which are; Food, Energy, Water and the Environment. The conference is therefore aimed at harnessing the Energy-food-water-ecosystem nexus.
