NKUMBA UNIVERSITY WILL HOST CARNEGIE AFRICAN DIASPORA FELLOW
Nkumba University has been selected by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) to host and work with an African Diaspora scholar in order to strengthen graduate studies and mentor academic staff in publications and grant writing skills.

“The project will lead to improved supervision of Masters and PhD research, quality Masters and PhD graduates, improved completion rates and also attract more students to the University”
Prof. Keengwe will run several workshops from June 5 – 23, 2017 and his expenses a visiting scholar will be covered by CADFP.
CADFP is funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE). IIE provides international education strategies and program services, while the mandate of the Carnegie Corporation of New York is to “promote the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding”.

The program is designed to build capacity at the host institutions in Africa, and to develop long-term mutually beneficial partnerships between the universities. The program selects projects that are proposed by the host universities and matches them with Africa-born visiting scholars.
