Job Overview: As a Community Development Assistant, you will be instrumental in mobilizing and engaging communities during the assessment and design phase of the new Area Programme under the Pader-Agago cluster. This role involves hands-on activities in community engagement, data collection, and working closely with local stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Engagement and Assessment: Participate in data collection and community engagement, focusing on understanding community perceptions of World Vision’s identity and activities.
  2. Community Mobilization: Assist in developing community communication plans, identifying and engaging key local stakeholders, and facilitating community discussions.
  3. Vulnerability Assessment: Support the assessment team in identifying vulnerable groups and mapping community resources.
  4. Child Sponsorship and Communications: Manage communications related to child sponsorship, including the registration of children in the sponsorship program and liaising with national and sponsor offices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Background: A Diploma and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities (Development Studies, Social Sciences, SWASA, Economics, Community Development, etc.).
  2. Work Experience: Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, though candidates with at least one year of experience in community engagement and qualitative data collection are preferred.
  3. Language Skills: Proficiency in local languages (Langi or Acholi) is crucial.
  4. Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and the ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit are essential.
  5. Personal Qualities: Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to World Vision’s values and be able to work effectively in a developing country context.
