Job Summary:
Kakira Sugar Limited is seeking motivated and dynamic graduates for the position of Graduate Trainee in the Electrical Section. This role is designed to support and participate in electrical maintenance activities under comprehensive training. It offers a fantastic opportunity for fresh graduates to gain hands-on experience in the electrical engineering field within a leading industrial setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Construct, maintain, and repair all overhead lines within the estate, including 33kV-11kV lines.
- Identify and resolve faults in the overhead grid and system efficiently.
- Manage fabrication needs as directed by management.
- Oversee the installation of new supply poles and security lighting across the estate.
- Compile and submit periodic reports detailing section activities and progress.
- Ensure the uninterrupted operation of electrical systems throughout the production process by coordinating repair and troubleshooting efforts.
- Monitor and adjust electrical control parameters in the production line to maintain optimal levels.
- Lead the comprehensive overhaul of electrical equipment during off-crop periods and major shutdowns.
- Maintain accurate shift activity logs and routine records.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction across the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for creating documents, reports, and presentations.
- Analytical abilities to interpret data, document findings, and formulate recommendations.
- Interpersonal skills to maintain professionalism and composure in various situations.
- Ability to build trust and respect among colleagues and management.
- A collaborative spirit and the capacity to work as part of a team.
