Department of Accounting, Economics & Finance offers programmes in Accounting and Finance (opportunities to students who wish to pursue careers in any of the sub-systems of the accounting function, including auditing and taxation), Advanced Diploma in the Theory of Accounting (preparation of students who completed their Accounting degrees at NQF level 7 or equivalent at institutions that are not accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in South Africa (SAICA) and/or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Namibia (ICAN), to enter a Post Graduate Certificate in the Theory of Accounting which is required by SAICA and ICAN for entry to Part 1 of the qualifying Examinations leading to the Chartered Accountant (Namibia) and Economics (where graduates will have acquired cognitive/intellectual skills, practical skills and key transferable skills that they will be able to apply in solving economic problems that fact the public and private sectors as well as the overall economy).
