Job Summary: The Category Supervisor – General Services will primarily design and execute sourcing and management of strategies for technical categories, including construction material, ICT services, electricals, welfare and consultancy services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, champion, and ensure implementation of ideas that will optimize total cost of ownership year-over-year for assigned spend categories.
- Track forecasted versus actual savings for the IT Category, Construction & Electricals and be responsible for communicating performance against these measures and their potential budgetary impact.
- Develop and implement commodity strategies and establish and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure successful implementation and support.
- Tasked with monitoring contract compliance
- Manage supplier development/relationships to ensure continuity of good and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the company
- Develop negotiations strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives
- Drive improvement of procurement efficiency and effectiveness throughout Movit
- Remain current with market trends through relationships with suppliers and market experts; identify and communicate new technologies and solutions to key problems in the assigned spend areas
- Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives.
- Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
- Formulate exit strategies for unsuccessful products
- Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands
- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
- Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
- Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
- Prepare and generate monthly performance reports
- Oversee support staff (Officer)
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Movit Products Limited (MPL) Category Supervisor – General Services job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & SCM, BBA, engineering or any business discipline
- Manufacturing experience background is preferred
- Professionally qualified individual – i.e. CIPS- UK
- At least five years of experience in planning or purchasing.
- Knowledge of up to date contract language and legislative requirements
- Significant experience in sourcing, contracting and project management
- Relevant category experience in the relevant area (Construction, Electricals & ICT)
- Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Expert negotiator and influencer
- Strategic thinker with the vision to plan and drive results
- Strong interpersonal skills for communication, networking and influencing.
- Creative outlook when problem solving
- Excited by innovation and new opportunities
- Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently – to use initiative and work autonomously
