PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) is social enterprise with a mission to ‘expand access to sustainably delivered, quality secondary education across Africa’. PEAS establishes and operates affordable secondary schools in Uganda and Zambia in areas where access to quality secondary education is limited due to cost and geographical barriers. PEAS launched an ambitious strategy in 2021, aimed at expanding Access to Quality education, ensure schools are Sustainable and invest in systems strengthening. With over 30 secondary schools in Uganda educating over 13,500 students, 40 staff at the Country Office and 900 staff working in the network schools, PEAS intend to expand its geographical coverage and impact by recruiting in various positions.
Job Summary: The incumbent will be tasked with the enrolment and marketing: lead the implementation of PEAS network enrolment strategy, Support schools and clusters to adopt and customize enrolment materials and approaches, work closely with SSOs and School Leaders to maximize enrolment.
School Information System (School Tool+): Lead the management and coordination of the re-development phase of School Tool+, Coordinate the testing and piloting of the system in PEAS schools, Plan and project manage the network-wide roll-out of the final School Tool+ system across 30 schools.
As Programme Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact at PEAS as we move forward with our ambitious strategy of growth. Working closely with the School Network Team, you will play a key role in the delivery of PEAS Uganda School Network Enrolment Strategy and the redevelopment, pilot and roll out of School Information System (School Tool+ ).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Enrolment and marketing
- Lead the implementation of the network enrolment strategy, working with SSOs and SLs to achieve the 2023 network enrolment target.
- Support each network school to identify a School Enrolment team and support them to develop and implement a School Enrolment Plan.
- Lead on identifying and understanding school by school specific enrolment challenges, and support them to identify solutions.
- Coordinate the development of innovative and appropriate marketing materials which can be used and adapted across the network.
- Develop high quality radio scripts for enrolment talk shows.
- Lead on consulting and developing low-cost innovative ideas to boost enrolment and prepare to pilot where appropriate.
- Regularly travel to the field to provide in-school support and to participate in selected enrolment campaign events.
School Information System (School Tool+)
- Designing and updating project management materials, including the project tracker and briefing documents.
- Providing overall project coordination, tracking progress, scheduling, preparing and project meetings, and managing delegation of tasks to the relevant team members.
- Leading on providing progress updates to and gathering any necessary input and feedback from CST and GST where required.
- Coordinating the development of phase and leading on engagements with developers.
- Coordinating the testing and piloting of the system in PEAS schools and communicating feedback to developers.
- Planning the system roll-out, coordinating development of roll-out materials and ensuring smooth implementation of toll-out plans.
- Supporting and empowering ICT teachers and champions in schools to lead system utilisation at school-level.

Essential
- Degree in marketing, business studies or other relevant field
- Three years of demonstrated experience in project coordination and management.
- Proven experience in planning, budget management, reporting and project coordination.
- Some demonstrated understanding of education issues, particularly basic school operations and access to education at secondary level in Uganda.
- Basic understanding of information systems and data management

- Building and managing relationships with complex stakeholder groups, in particular, in rural, low-income settings.

- Excellent MS Office skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to train others
Desirable
- Experience in developing and implementing targeted marking plans
- In-depth knowledge of education in rural context in Uganda and community dynamics
- Knowledge and experience with coding and education management systems
