Uganda Police Training School Kabalye Sergeant to Assistant Inspector’s Course
This course is intended for officers of the rank of a sergeant to be promoted to the officers’ rank. After the course the officer joins the category of first line managers/commanders. This status places more responsibility in the hands of the officer, which as result requires the officer to be more: knowledgeable, understanding, and skilled and of quality conduct.
Target Group:
- In-service officers.
- Disciplined officers.
- Must have served for at least 3 years at the rank sergeant (except on special consideration).
Objective:
To equip the officer with the required knowledge, understanding skills, attitude and behavior expected of an officer.
Course contents:
In addition to management topics and new laws, which is the main purpose of the course, the officers do a general overview of some topics in law and procedures affecting police and the public generally.
Assessment:
Officers sit for examinations leading to the award of a certificate at the end of the course.
Duration: Three (3) months
