Job Summary:

Baylor-Uganda seeks a highly motivated Public Relations, Communications, and Advocacy Manager to enhance its corporate image and maintain strong relationships with media, partners, and stakeholders. This role involves strategic planning, advocacy management, media relations, stakeholder engagement, communication, crisis management, reporting, and people management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Strategy Development: Formulate and implement policies, strategies, and campaigns for communications, PR, and advocacy.
  • Advocacy Management: Represent Baylor-Uganda in local, regional, and international forums to communicate the organization’s mandate.
  • Media Relations Management: Develop systems to track and respond to media reports, maintain relations with the media, and manage digital platforms.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Organize meetings and events to foster relationships with partners and the public.
  • Communication: Oversee the creation of informational materials, manage website content, and ensure effective dissemination of media reports.
  • Crisis Management: Handle public relations crises and manage public opinion about Baylor-Uganda’s activities.
  • Reporting: Generate periodic reports on PR performance and the impact of promotional materials.
  • People Management: Supervise the PR team, ensuring effective implementation of activities and compliance with guidelines.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism or a related field, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication (Public Relations/Media Communication) or related field. A postgraduate qualification in communication is an added advantage.
  • Experience: At least six years of relevant experience in PR and corporate communications.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, strategic planning, crisis management, and team leadership skills are essential.
