AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is an international not for profit NGO, with its Headquarters based in Los Angeles, California. Aids Health Care Foundation is registered in Uganda as Aids Health Care Foundation – Uganda Cares (AHF-UC) which is collaboration between the Uganda Ministry of Health and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (U.S.A) to provide free HIV/AIDS services; including antiretroviral therapy in resource constrained settings. AHF- Uganda Cares to date operates in 15 districts including; Masaka, Kampala, Rakai, Mpigi, Lyantonde, Soroti, Lwengo, Bukomansimbi, Kalungu, Kalangala, Masindi, Amuria, Butambala, Gomba, Serere, Hoima and Tororo supporting 32 clinic sites country wide.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Supports HGT interventions and ensures linkage of clients tested into care and treatment program through well-established processes of patient linkages and service integration
  • Attends key technical partner’s meetings and provides feedback to management through the National Medical Director
  • Participates in setting performance targets, appraising performance, disciplining, addressing Complaints and resolving problems of employees under his/her supervision.
  • Ensure standard quality of clinical services at all AHF supported sites in the region.
  • Provide periodic comprehensive support supervision, using the tools provided by AHF-Uganda Cares
  • Promotes the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) for all activities relating to good clinical practice and ensure functional QI teams are in existence at all site level
  • Provides direct supervision and mentorship to doctors, clinical officers, nurses, and HIV medics working in the different facilities in the region to ensure continuous growth and learning
  • Ensure timely compilation and submission of monthly drug inventory reports in coordination with the Program pharmacist.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in internal Medicine and Surgery (MB.ChB) or its equivalent from a recognized university/institution.
  • Additional qualification in health systems management or public health will be an added advantage,
  • Must be registered with the Medical and Dental practitioners council or its equivalent; it trained and practicing outside the country
  • At least five years medical/health service experience preferred with a sound knowledge of basic medical disciplines to allow for accurate diagnosis and appropriate management of clinical problems.
  • Three years or more of recent experience with HIV/AIDs treatment two years minimum of administration and program management experience with knowledge of clinical protocols and procedures in the management of HIV related diseases.
  • Professional computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, lnternet, and Email
