Admission
a) Criteria
Direct Entry Scheme, candidates must have;
i. Sat the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or it’s equivalent and obtained a certificate in it.
ii. Obtained two advanced level passes in Biology and Chemistry taken at the same sitting.
iii. Sitting of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), must also have done Physics or Maths and obtained at least a subsidiary pass in it.
iv. Obtained a minimum weighted points as shall be determined by the Admissions Board
Diploma Holders Entry Scheme:
A candidate must have the following;
i. A diploma in a health related discipline
ii. Working experience of at least 2 years in those relevant fields
Such diploma holders shall include;
i. Medical Laboratory Technologists
ii. Radiographers
iii. Physiotherapists
iv. Anaesthetic officers
v. Clinical Ophthalmic officers
vi. Clinical Orthopaedic officers
vii. Environmental Health Officers
viii. Public Health Dental Assistant
ix. Public Health Assistants
x. Dispensers
xi. Psychiatry clinical officers
xii. Uganda Registered Nurses ‘A’ level certificate holders
xiii. Uganda Registered Midwives A level certificate holders
xiv. Clinical officers (formerly called medical assistants)
Degree Holders Entry Scheme
Degree entry candidates, must have either of the following qualifications;
i. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BNSc)
ii. Bachelor of Medical Radiography (BMR)
iii. Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (BBS)
iv. Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences
