Job Summary:
The Senior Consultant – IP MPLS Optimization will ensure the performance of the IP/MPLS network by conducting proactive audits, design reviews, re-engineering controls, and process improvements for a reliable and resilient network.
Context:
The network operates in a multi-vendor environment with key functions outsourced. Collaboration with various departments and vendors is crucial for delivering excellence to customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design Review and Troubleshooting:
- Review IP/MPLS project designs for potential capacity issues or performance degradation.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving service impacting incidents in the IP/MPLS network.
- Configuration Management and Optimization:
- Ensure configurations in the IP/MPLS network are up to date and aligned with design standards.
- Supervise planned network expansions, migrations, modernization, and optimization activities.
- Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Risk Management:
- Design and participate in IP/MPLS Disaster Recovery Plans and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Assess and mitigate risks in the IP/MPLS network.
- Analytic Competence and Collaboration:
- Develop and enhance analytic competence and tools for network optimization.
- Collaborate with managed service vendors to improve network performance based on customer feedback.
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Guide and lead teams in risk assessment, performance improvement, and skill development.
- Ensure relevant skills development and training are available to all team members.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
- IP Certification in Cisco, Juniper, or Extreme is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of work experience, with more than 4 years in IP management and network security.
- Proficiency in telecommunications management, network design, operation, and optimization.
- Strong skills in process design, budgeting, project management, and business acumen.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.
