Watoto Child Care Ministries is a ministry of Watoto Church that rescues vulnerable children and restores dignity to them by providing holistically for their physical, spiritual and emotional needs. Watoto has operations in Kampala, Wakiso, Mpigi and Gulu.
Job Summary: Secondary Teachers will support in planning, preparing and delivering high standards of education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To plan, prepare and delivery lessons to students while ensuring high standards of practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subjects.
- To plan, prepare and conduct lessons according to the set standards of Watoto schools and implements teaching programs that are consistent with the ethos of the school.
- To provide guidance and advice to students on education, social matters and future careers to aid the young people in making good career choices.
- To carry out appropriate and fair assessment of learners progress and keep records of all assessments on file.
- To demonstrate good stewardship of resources and property in the school by ensuring safe custody and optimum use of equipment.
- To assist students in developing self-discipline and independence.
- To create a learning space where the needs of the students and teachers are met, respected and protected.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Watoto Teacher job opportunity should hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
- At least three (3) years experience in teaching.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, high degree of flexibility and initiative.
- Commitment to work within a team environment and ability to work under minimal supervision.
