One of the biggest headaches today in Uganda is the shortage of middle level human resources in health. There are almost no nurses in the villages.
Drug shops are run by people who have least idea about the chemistry of drugs. This puts people in great danger. Nursing and Pharmacy are both undertaken in Makerere University but supply is very low.
But the country’s requirements far out way the current capacity. Therefore it is proposed that in this proposed university the following programmes be developed.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor Of Surgery
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSc. Nursing)
- Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences.
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm).
- Bachelor of Health Records.
