Grindrod Logistics Africa Uganda seeks to recruit skilled, experienced, and motivated technical team to work in Kampala and Buliisa to maintain their contracted equipment throughout the region.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Fleet Management using Fleetio
- Utilize Fleetio to manage the company’s fleet of vehicles efficiently.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all fleet assets, including vehicle details, maintenance history, and registration information.
- Coordinate vehicle procurement, disposal, and replacements as per organizational guidelines.
- Track asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, deployments, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
- Monitor and analyse fleet utilization to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with maintenance providers to schedule routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for the fleet.
- Develop and implement fleet policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
- Ensure that the correct operators assigned to the equipment are the ones operating and highlight any discrepancies.
- Provide recommendations and implement corrective actions to optimize asset performance, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Generate reports and feedback as required by stakeholders.
Asset Tracking using 3D Services.
- Utilize 3D Services platform for asset tracking and reporting.
- Implement and maintain an efficient asset tracking system to record and monitor the location, condition, and usage of assets.
- Conduct regular physical audits and reconcile asset records to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure accurate asset data, including asset tagging and documentation.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for asset tracking and management.
- Generate reports and feedback as required by stakeholders.
- Analyse data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in asset utilization.
- Provide recommendations and implement corrective actions to optimize asset performance, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, including operations, finance, procurement, and maintenance, to understand asset requirements and align asset management strategies with business goals.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on asset management processes, including asset utilization and maintenance responsibilities.
- Foster strong relationships with external vendors, such as maintenance providers and suppliers, to ensure quality service and cost-effective solutions.
Reports
- Extract certain reports as and when needed by clients / management.
- Generate modified reports as per client’s requirements.
- Prepare and present reports to management, highlighting key findings and proposing strategies for asset optimization.
- Generate automated daily, weekly & monthly reports as per details supplied by management and clients.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Grade 12
- Certificate or equivalent in systems training / or studies.
- Valid EC licence
- Details of experience
- At least three years of experience in the Systems.
- Above average knowledge of MS Office
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Strong background in generating and extract reports from the system to present at management and client level.
