ACADEMIC YEAR.
Established in 2006, Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU) is a fully registered private university with the Tanzania Commission for Universities. It is owned by the Moravian Church in Tanzania under the Board of Trustees as provided in the 2006 University Charter and Trust Rules in accordance with the Universities Act, 2005. It is situated in South -Western Tanzania in Mbeya City. The University working days are from Monday to Saturday.
Applications are invited from qualified candidates wishing to pursue various undergraduate degree at the Teofilo Kisanji University for the 2017/2018 academic year.

1.0Minimum entry Qualifications
1. Faculty of Theology
This faculty consist of three academic programmes, the Certificate in Theology (CTH), Diploma in theology ( DTH) and Bachelor of Divinity (BD) programmes.

(i)Certificate in Theology
(a)Entrance by Direct Admission
–Approval of the applicants by the Provinces, Diocese or Church.
–Approval by the Faculty of Theology and Senate.
(b)Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) (ordinary Level) with passes in four approved subjects.
(ii)Diploma in Theology
(a)Entrance by Direct Admission
–Approval of the applicants by the Provinces, Diocese or Church.
–Approval by the Faculty of Theology and Senate.
Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) (ordinary Level) with passes in four approved subjects
Possession of the advanced certificate of secondary education ( ACSEE) with one principal pass and subsidiary
(iii)Bachelor of Divinity (BD)
a. Entrance by Direct Admission
The Bachelor of Divinity course is open to all people, Tanzanians and Non- Tanzanians who have finished the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination ( Form six) and who are interested in studying Theology. Students are accepted for Direct Admission to BD if they meet the following requirements.
i.Approval of the applicants by the Province, Diocese or Church.
ii.Approval by the Faculty of Theology and Senate. b. Entrance by Direct Entrance Examination (DEE)
The DEE may taken by those:
i.Who have completed form 4 and have three O-levelpasses with credit and a certificate /diploma in Theology at a recognized college with an average of B.
ii.Possession of two principal passes in Advanced Certificate, of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) (A- Level) with less than 4.0 points.

iii.Entrance by DEE is valid for the year of the examination and the following year only. If a place is not taken in the time , the applicant will be required to re-sit the examination.
iv.No applicant who has already applied twice without success for admission by DEE will be considered again for this form of entry.
1.2Minimum admission Entry Qualifications
All applicants seeking admission in the above mentioned Faculties must meet the following entry qualifications.
A candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to a first
–degree programme of the University if she/he has obtained:
(a)Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E) or equivalent, with passes in FIVE approved subjects, obtained prior to sitting for the advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent;
And
(b)One of the following combinations of passes in the A.C.S.E.E ;
Either
(i)Principal level passes in appropriate subjects with a total of at least 4.0 points from two subjects obtained at the same sitting
based on the following grade point conversion scale: A=5; B=4; C=3; D=2; E=1; S=0.5
Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects defining the admission into the respective programme where A=5 B+=4 B=3 C=2 D=1). This qualification is for applicants completed A- Level studies in 2014 and 2015.
Or

(ii)An appropriate equivalent Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) of not less than 3.0 GPA approved by the TEKU Senate and TCU.
(iii)Average of C for full technician certificate (FTC) where; A=5 B=4C=3and D= 2points
(iv)Average of B grade for diploma in Teacher education
(v)Average of B grade for Health related awards such as clinical medicine and others
(vi)A distinction for unclassified diplomas and certificates
(vii)Upper second class for classified non- NTA diplomas
Or
3.0DEADLINE FOR RECEIVING APPLICATION FORMS.
The deadline for submission of duly filled application forms is 15thAugust, 2017. Applications received thereafter (Whether submitted in person or otherwise) shall not be processed.

4.0MODE OF APPLICATION Applicants must:

(i)Give full particulars of citizenship (include copy of birth certificate) and enclosing photocopies of relevant certificates/ transcripts of “O” and “A” level. Applications without these enclosures will not be considered.
(ii)Pay a non-refundable application fee of Tshs. 30,000/= for Tanzania and USD 30 for foreigners.
(iii)All fees should be paid directly to the Bursar, Teofilo Kisanji
University or through Postal Order payable to the Bursar, Teofilo Kisanji University P.O. Box 1104, Mbeya or to
