RESEARCH ASSISTANTS – FIELDWORKERS – COPD/CLEAN AIR Project (12 POSTS).

Project: Delivery of clean air strategies for mitigating household air pollution and associated respiratory illnesses in urban informal settlements in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Lilongwe (Malawi) cities.

RESEARCH ASSISTANTS – FIELDWORKERS – COPD/CLEAN AIR Project (12 POSTS).

Project: Delivery of clean air strategies for mitigating household air pollution and associated respiratory illnesses in urban informal settlements in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Lilongwe (Malawi) cities.

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Duties and responsibilities

Collect relevant information related to respiratory health, environmental pollution and energy use in the community.

Ensure quality control and clarity of the collected information through daily data checks and follow up for missed information

Ensure core principles of research ethics are observed and adhered to throughout the entire period of fieldwork and beyond.

Ensure proper care and handling of all research tools and equipment throughout the study period

Conduct any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications and experience

Minimum requirement is a bachelor degree in any field of study.

Prior research experience in similar fieldwork activities will be a strong factor. Those previously worked with our previous COPD research work are encouraged to apply.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the community

Experience of working under time pressure without close supervision.

Competencies: Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili to business standards

Remuneration and mode of employment: An attractive and competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidates. The contract will be for the period between 1 to 2 months.
