Introduction

The Master of Pharmacy is a part-time work-based supported learning programme that centres on Clinical Pharmacy. There is an emphasis on infectious diseases in the first year and an opportunity for students to explore broader areas of pharmacy and clinical pharmacy such as technical services, medicines information services, and patient services in the second year of study, and other defined areas of practice in the third year of study. Students will also undertake a research project (NQF level 9). Contact sessions will be delivered at the Health Sciences Campus, Windhoek.

Admission Criteria

The prospective candidate must:

  • Be a holder of a Level 8 Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) degree with at least a C-grade average, from the University of Namibia or equivalent
  • Have obtained an evaluation from the Namibian Qualification Authority (NQA) if the
    qualification was obtained from institutions other than UNAM
  • Be be a qualified pharmacist, and if practicing/studying in Namibia, registered with the
    Health Professions Councils of Namibia, specifically the Pharmacy Council of Namibia
  • Be in active practice where they can experience clinical exposure
  • Be prepared to be interviewed and assessed by the School of Pharmacy prior to admission

Duration of Study

The minimum duration of the programme is three (3) years of part-time study.
