Title: PROJECT COORDINATOR – COPD/CLEAN AIR Project (1 POST).

Project: Delivery of clean air strategies for mitigating household air pollution and associated respiratory illnesses in urban informal settlements in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Lilongwe (Malawi) cities.

Location: University of Dar es Salaam

Duties and responsibilities

Co-ordinate meetings, workshops and other events with key stakeholders both nationally and internationally.

Coordinate and supervise field activities in liaison with local government authorities and the target communities.

Contribute to reporting requirements with respect to stakeholder engagement, results dissemination and policy translation.

Engage with media agencies to promote project research results and increase its standing on the national agenda.

Ensure that quality control procedures and ethical guidelines are adequately followed in the conduct of activities.

Report on progress and outcomes of the projects from time to time, by way of electronic or printed reports.

Conduct any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications and experience

Minimum requirement is a bachelor degree in any field of study.

Knowledge and preferably experience in the project management

Ability to conduct meetings and liaison with community, government and other stakeholders.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels

Experience of working under time pressure and meeting strict deadlines, without close supervision.

Competencies: Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili to business standards

Remuneration and mode of employment: An attractive and competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate. The contract will be for the period of up to seven months.
