Title: PROJECT COORDINATOR – COPD/CLEAN AIR Project (1 POST).
Project: Delivery of clean air strategies for mitigating household air pollution and associated respiratory illnesses in urban informal settlements in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Lilongwe (Malawi) cities.
Location: University of Dar es Salaam
Duties and responsibilities
∙Co-ordinate meetings, workshops and other events with key stakeholders both nationally and internationally.
∙Coordinate and supervise field activities in liaison with local government authorities and the target communities.
∙Contribute to reporting requirements with respect to stakeholder engagement, results dissemination and policy translation.
∙Engage with media agencies to promote project research results and increase its standing on the national agenda.
∙Ensure that quality control procedures and ethical guidelines are adequately followed in the conduct of activities.
∙Report on progress and outcomes of the projects from time to time, by way of electronic or printed reports.
∙Conduct any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications and experience
∙Minimum requirement is a bachelor degree in any field of study.
∙Knowledge and preferably experience in the project management
∙Ability to conduct meetings and liaison with community, government and other stakeholders.
∙Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
∙Experience of working under time pressure and meeting strict deadlines, without close supervision.
Competencies: Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili to business standards
Remuneration and mode of employment: An attractive and competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate. The contract will be for the period of up to seven months.
