Introduction:

This Programme is designed for graduates with interest and sound knowledge of accounting and finance. It offers participants advanced preparation for career development in accounting and finance. It also provides an excellent foundation from which they can pursue research at Doctoral level.The target group includes finance managers and accountants who are responsible for accounting and financial management of organizational resources.

Requirements:

A candidate must have

• A Bachelor of Accounting (level 8) or an equivalent degree from the University of Namibia or anyother recognized institution of higher learning with at least a lower second class.

or

• A Postgraduate diploma in business related fields from the University of Namibia or its equivalent withat least a lower second class.

A prospective student may be interviewed and assessed by the Department of Accounting before recommendation to the Postgraduate Studies Committee for admission. Mere fulfilment of admission requirement does not guarantee a place on the Programme as admission is limited to 15 per intake.
A student who has not done research component in his/her degree Programme must pass this course before admission into the Master of Science in Accounting and Finance.

Duration of Studies:

The Master of Science in Accounting and Finance shall be a two years full-time face to face evening study Programme. All the courses including thesis must be completed by a student in maximum four (4) academic years.
