The PhD in Management is under taken in one of the core areas of management as agreed upon between the student and supervisor(s)/ adviser(s). Initially the student is expected to write a research proposal in the agreed area before the PhD research can proceed.
The PhD. in management is a collaborative programme with UTAMU’s International partner Universities. The students are admitted at one of UTAMU’s partner institutions and jointly supervised by UTAMU senior PhD holders and allocated supervisors (advisers) at the partner institutions. Each PhD student is required to satisfy the requirements of the partner institution before being allowed to submit his/ her dissertation. The minimum requirement for the PhD completion is that the student must spend a minimum of three years on the programme and must also publish a minimum of three peer reviewed journal papers in the area of the PhD research.
The student who will successfully complete his/her PhD studies, will graduate from the international partner institution and shall be awarded the degree of the same institution.
The minimum admission requirements are an MA in Management or any other management related master’s degree obtained from a recognised institution and a minimum of three years working experience after obtaining the master’s degree.
