ACORD-U (Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development – Uganda) is an indigenous Non Governmental Organization (NGO) working for social justice and development. ACORD has been working in Uganda since 1979 with operations in over 25 districts across Uganda. The ACORD-U works in conjunction with people who have been denied their basic rights, helping to better understand, to challenge, and to change the situation in which they find themselves.
About USAID ICYD Project:
The Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development-Uganda (ACORD-U), received grants from USAID, to implement the “Integrated Children and Youth Development (ICYD) Activity” in Central and Western Uganda (Mityana, Gomba, Luwero, Kyenjojo and Kakumiro Districts)
Job Summary: The MEAL Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and ensuring high quality and timely data inputs, and for ensuring that the project activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs in a timely manner. The M&E officer will be responsible for implementing the M&E activities of the Project at the district level. He/She will work in close collaboration with the data clerk and project team, other Youth Alive staff and different stake holders.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree, Social Sciences, Development studies, Health Informatics, Statistics, Population studies, Quantitative economics or related fields.
- A post graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage.
- Two to three years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Experience with USAID OVC projects is an added advantage
- Advanced skills in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
- Experience in working on databases (online beneficial) and Ministry databases (OVC MIS, HMIS)
- Experience in cleaning, entering, aggregating and generating reports from data using database platforms
- Ability to do data visualization into infographics and design clear and attractive presentations and other communication documents to communicate results are an added advantage
- Knowledge of online, open-source data collection tools
