Job Summary: The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for 2 (two) Data Collectors in Uganda (1 for Kabale and Kanungu districts, 1 for Rubanda and Kisoro districts) to monitor and collect economic data recorded by seed multipliers on the field multiplication of rooted apical cuttings, implement a small socio-economic survey as well as to put the obtained data in data sets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participation to a training session on the data collection tools available.
- Organization of 1-day visits to specific seed multipliers within the districts to verify good economic data collection on the field multiplication of rooted apical cuttings and collect the data recorded by them.
- Implementation of a small socio-economic survey of specific seed multipliers within the districts.
- Submit the quantitative data collected, the data sets should be in Excel.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness or other relevant qualification but with agricultural/socio-economics background.
- First professional experience in data collection by using templates and/or structured questionnaires.
- Good knowledge of Excel.
- Good communication skills.
- Fluent in Rukiga and Rufumbira.
- Advanced level in written and spoken English.
- Being resident of one of the 4 districts (Kabale, Rubanda, Kanungu, Kisoro).
