LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.
Job Summary: The Project Officer Child Protection is responsible for managing the implementation of Child Protection Programme activities and to represent and advocate for LWF’s work and organizational priorities in child protection with a wide range of external parties including government representatives, communities, donors, and other humanitarian agencies operating in the area. Provide leadership and guidance to the programme team
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Project Officer Child Protection career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Community Development, social work or psychology. A degree in Social science will be preferable. Health/nutrition diploma will be accepted too
- At least two years’ experience in working with international NGO’s on protection related work is mandatory for this position. Previous child protection work and background will be treated as added advantage.
- Proven knowledge of the minimum standards of child protection, sphere standards and child friendly space guidance.
- Good knowledge and understanding of rights based programme and related issues including Child Protection in Emergency and Response Mechanism.
