Job Summary: The Project Assistant will support the implementation of all activities relating to the Sexual and reproductive health rights project (SRHR-Umbrella), policy and advocacy under this project and ensure that all objectives are achieved. S/he will work to ensure and maintain linkages with all programme and field activities the organisation is implementing in line with SRHR/HIV integration, policy and advocacy. S/he will actively participate in the development of the programme strategy implementation and monitoring.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate outreaches and workshops in the areas of project implementation
- Develop, implement and monitor the joint activities of the project, such as joint capacity. strengthening, training on sexual and reproductive health and rights, advocacy and raising awareness.
- Narrative and financial reporting on project activities.
- Facilitate and coordinate research activities at the project level (baseline, monthly, quarterly, biannual reviews, evaluations, and the like), often in cooperation with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
- Facilitate and coordinate joint advocacy initiatives of the project.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public health, or a related field. Additional Master’s Degree in Public Health is an added advantage.
- Four years of progressively diverse experience in the direct implementation of sexual and reproductive health and HIV implementation, policy, and advocacy projects.
- Supportive of comprehensive sexuality education and the right for people to make their own informed and healthy decisions.
- Proven experience in project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation, and basic financial management.
- Possess the ability to combine a facilitating and supporting approach with a motivating and result oriented approach.
- A good team player with networking and communication skills (oral and written).
- Dynamic, self-driven, and the ability to multitask.
- Prior working experience in working within a partnership that involves various stakeholders.
- Resource mobilization and advocacy experience are strong advantages.
