About US:
National Curriculum Development Centre is a corporate body under the Ministry of Education and Sports. It is responsible for inter-alliance development of curricula and related materials for various level of education (i.e. Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), organising capacity building courses for stakeholders on curricula and matters related to curriculum development.
Job Summary: The Driver will provide administrative support, maintain the Centre’s vehicle and ensure safety of passengers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive vehicles for official duty and assignments;
- Diagnose and rectify minor defects and cleaning of the vehicle and keeping it tidy at all times;
- Report both minor and major technical mechanical faults to the Supervisor;
- Maintain and update the Log Book of the vehicle and keep daily records of the maintenance schedule accordingly after the repairs;
- Ensure that the vehicle is licenced and serviced promptly;
- Deliver official correspondences, mails and documents;
- Ensure the safety of the vehicle and report any accidents to police and the supervisor;
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold an Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a PASS in English Language.
- Valid Driving Permit of at least Class: CM/B.
- A certificate in competence driving from the Ministry of works and transport.
- A minimum of four (4) years driving experience in a reputable organisation.
- Basic Knowledge of mechanical and vehicle maintenance;
- Clean driving record;
- Customer Care skills;
- Time Management;
- Flexibility;
- Ability to communicate in English;
- Team player.
- Age: between 30 – 45 years.
NB: A defensive Certificate will be an added advantage.
