Partners for Children World Wide (PFCW) is a Child focused non – governmental organization operating in the districts of; Soroti, Serere, Amuria, Kapelebyong, Katakwi and Kaberamaido supporting communities to address the plight of Deprived, Excluded and Vulnerable children in the operational area. PfCW works with vulnerable communities and other actors to address child poverty and adversity.
Job Summary: The Project Assistant will ensure planning implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of project activities in one of the four districts of operation. He/she will coordinate project participants; build their capacity; document lessons learnt share best practices; mentor ToTs and coordinate with extension workers to deliver sustainable community development solutions, using climate smart agricultural initiatives. The Job holder will be responsible for the day to day operations of the project. The Job Holder will be based at any of the following locations: Amuria, Dokolo, Katakwi and Serere districts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordination of the project communities
- Plans implements and monitors Project Activities.
- Spearheading advocacy initiatives on extension services at community level
- Representation.
- Project Monitoring and Evaluation
- Collaborating and networking
- Accountability and Budgetary Control
- Responsible for assigned ad hoc duties
- Project documentation and reporting
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of a diploma in Agriculture, Social Sciences, Development Studies or any other related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years post qualification experience in a similar position working on community projects in a development organization.
- High Proficiency in Computer skills, like MS word, Excel etc.
- Proficiency in speaking Ateso for Serere, Amuria and Katakwi districts; and Luo for Dokolo district.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle and possession of a valid riding permit.
- Experience working in rural communities
- Experience working with youths empowerment projects is an added advantage.
- Experience in livelihoods project implementation.
- Experience in disaster Risk management
- Proficiency in computer application is a must.
- Coordination skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent reporting skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong Team and interpersonal skills.
- Participatory facilitation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meeting the job expectations and demands.
- A good understanding, appreciation and adherence to child protection issues/ policies.
- Knowledge and skills in engaging youths and adults in activities that promotes their economic empowerment.
- Demonstrated abilities in supervision and mentorship are required.
- Knowledge and skills in community resource mobilization and project planning and management.
- Experience in Disaster management and emergency response will be added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in partnership engagement.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle and possession of a valid riding permit
