About US:
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has received a grant from the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) Cooperative Agreement (CoAg), a strategic mechanism of the United States Government (USG) to implement activities in line with its mandate in support of the Public health response to HIV/AIDS and other health systems. CDC will be supporting a pool of Human Resources that are expected to lead the implementation of the grant. The staff to be recruited under this grant will be contracted by the MOH. The contracts are for one (1) year renewable subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance of the staff
Job Summary: Supporting Program and Implementation at Regional and District Level; Training, Support Supervision, Mentorship, Coaching, Capacity Building, Performance Review
Meetings and documentation of HTS innovations and good practices
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting training of HTS providers at community and community level on behalf of
- the HTS Program.
- Conducting mentorship and coaching on behalf of the HTS Program.
- Participating in HTS curriculum and job aids review and development as assigned by the HTS unit.
- Supporting the implementation and scale up of HTS surge and Quality Improvement efforts and activities.
- Participating in district, regional and national level review meetings.
- Supporting the Implementation of all HTS related pilot interventions, innovations and research for policy and Programming.
- Representing the Program at National, Regional, District and facility levels when delegated.
- Keeping all work related documents, gadgets, records confidential.
- Writing Program Activity reports and submitting them to the Supervisor.
- Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Reporting to the PO HTS in all aspects of work.
Key Outputs:
- Training and capacity building of providers at community and facility level conducted
- Supervision and Mentorship conducted.
- Training materials, curriculum and job aids revised.
- HTS Quality Improvement and surge Performance activities supported.
- Program activity reports written.
- Documented Promising Practices and Innovations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervision, Mentorship and coaching reports.
- Capacity and training Building reports.
- Quality Improvement and Surge Performance reports.
- Pilot and research interventions implemented.
- Performance review meeting reports.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Diploma in a medical field OR, A university Degree in Education or Humanities.
- Registration with the relevant bodies for medical related fields.
- Strong background knowledge in HTS approaches and Program areas including; Index
- Client testing, HIV Self Testing, Recency testing, PITC, Proficiency testing, Quality Improvement and research.
- Very good knowledge of HIV prevention and counselling.
- Experience of not less than one (1) year in providing HIV Testing services.
- Certificate in HIV counselling and or testing from a recognized Institution (VCT, HTS, RCT, PITC, Rapid testing, Recency Testing, HIVST, Child counseling, PSS etc) Training of trainers (TOT) certificate from a recognized institution.
- Possess knowledge and skills in the use of standardized HTS training courses approved
- by MOH.
- Advanced knowledge in the use of standardized HTS tools and excellent report writing skills.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Ms. word, Excel, data bases and dashboards.
