Job Title:    Districts Referral/Linkages/Retention Officers (5 Job Placements)

Organisation: Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development-Uganda (ACORD-U)

Duty Station: Gomba, Mityana, Kakumiro, Kyenjojo and Luwero, Uganda

Reports to: District Manager

About US:

ACORD-U (Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development – Uganda) is an indigenous Non Governmental Organization (NGO) working for social justice and development. ACORD has been working in Uganda since 1979 with operations in over 25 districts across Uganda. The ACORD-U works in conjunction with people who have been denied their basic rights, helping to better understand, to challenge, and to change the situation in which they find themselves.

 

About USAID ICYD Project:

The Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development-Uganda (ACORD-U), received grants from USAID, to implement the “Integrated Children and Youth Development (ICYD) Activity” in Central and Western Uganda (Mityana, Gomba, Luwero, Kyenjojo and Kakumiro Districts)

Job Summary:  The District Referral/Linkages/Retention Officer is responsible for assisting the services and Linkages to plan and implement the program case management and referral models in the entire project target Districts.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for Referral/Linkages Officer must hold a University degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Community Psychology, Counselling and guidance or Public health
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in a similar or related job gained through working on any USAID funded OVC project
  • Previous exposure, experience and ability to coordinate activities of different stakeholders at district and community level.
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and or in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Motorcycle Riding an additional advantage
