About US:
The National Agricultural Research Organization was established by the National Agricultural Research Act 2005 as a body corporate with the mandate to provide strategic direction for publically funded agricultural research in Uganda. The organization is composed of the Council as its governing body, Committees of Council, a Secretariat for its day-to-day operations with semi-autonomous Public Agricultural Research Institutes (PARI’s) including the National Livestock Resources Research Institute (NaLIRRI) under its policy guidance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all project operations within a given District
- Ensure timely development and submission of quality progress and operational reports following agreed upon reporting schedules
- Develop and implement appropriate action plans for project operations within a given district including but not limited to on-farm demonstrations and farmer trainings
- Undertake routine monitoring of project operations within a given district
- Participate in data collection from the various research studies executed within the district
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants should possess a diploma in agricultural related fields.
- A bachelor’s degree and/or additional agricultural related qualifications are an added advantage Experience of at least one in agricultural extension and rural development is desired
- Ability to speak the dominant local language in the district of interest is an added advantage
